The Board of Directors announced the appointment of Annette Johnson as new executive director of Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, following the retirement of current director Diane Renner after 14 years of service.
At “Fill the Bowls” Diane presented Annette with Marie Wilkinson’s memoirs “Gentle Spirit,” a source of inspiration and guidance that helped Diane navigate the growth and development of the food pantry.
Incoming director Annette Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to support the mission of Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry. She has 35 years of experience in financial and operational management in the food manufacturing and marketing sectors.
Johnson brings a wealth of experience that aligns with the pantry’s mission.
“We are honored to have Annette join our leadership,” said Theodia Gillespie, chair of the Board of Directors. “Her background in food services and community partnerships will be a tremendous asset as we continue Marie Wilkinson’s mission. We know her forward-looking approach will help us adapt to the evolving needs of our community.”
Along with her business background, Johnson is president of the East Aurora School District Board of Education. She was instrumental in bringing the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry in to East Aurora High School.
“It is an honor to carry on the vision of Marie Wilkinson,” said Johnson. “I look forward to strengthening partnerships, expanding our services and enhancing our outreach efforts to support every person who comes through our doors. Together, we’ll continue building a legacy of hope and opportunity.”
