Now that the hustle and bustle of 2019 is over, and before we get lost in the shuffle of
2020, we want to take a moment to say Thank You!
Because really and truly, we are grateful. We’re grateful for each and every person who dedicates his/her time, energy, money, and passion to making nonprofits so powerful. We’re grateful that because of the collective action of the passionate, Nonprofits help more people, places, and things than ever before.
2020 – Entering a new year much less a new decade is always exciting! 2020 is a number for clear, crisp, focused vision.
This past year we have worked hard to continue our mission of serving our community by exercising effective stewardship for optimum results in efficiency and productivity.
During 2019, we installed a Young Professional Board, partnered with Bruno’s Pet Food, purchased a new Rescue Van, built a garage, enhanced our Senior food program, made multiple upgrades in our community garden to include a chicken coop, chickens, pollinator hotel, outdoor kitchen, solar panels, greenhouse, our first Garden Harvest dinner with produce from the garden all while continuing our operations of
serving over 20,313 individuals from our west, east and student pantries.
Whew! Yes, we’ve been busy! Most importantly, all of this was accomplished while being proud of 96% of every dollar donated directly supporting our volunteer operated facilities!!!
We at the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantries and Marie’s Community Garden Park will be executing a number of new adventures that will continue to enhance our mission of assisting our community.
Some of the programs in the works will include expanding our
Senior Food Program, enhancing our environmental sustainability initiative, increasing our collaboration with non for profit partners, as well as new initiatives in Marie’s Community Garden Park.
Plans are underway to build a monarch sanctuary, wholesale
market of produce plants, as well as working with restaurants.
